The Pittsboro restaurant scene got a new addition this week with the opening of West End Kitchen. It is located at 23 Rectory Street in Pittsboro, in the building that was previously Angelina’s Kitchen.

West End Kitchen’s owner, Kristi Russell, told Chapelboro.com that she’s been working on the concept for a little over a year. She describes the fair as “elevated comfort food – classic favorites with a modern twist.” The menu was developed by Executive Chef Chad Hardin, who has previously been at Milltown in Carrboro and The Belted Goat in Fearrington.

This is Russell’s first experience running a restaurant, but she’s not new to running a high profile business in town.

“I bought the Rosemary House Bed & Breakfast three years ago,” he said. “And we stopped doing the breakfast…I inquired about getting a commercial kitchen in there and it was just cost-prohibitive. And then coincidentally, right at that time, Angelina’s Kitchen became available.”

The grand opening was on Wednesday, November 8, but there are still more additions coming.

“We will be open for dinner in about a year,” said Russell.  “And we are getting our ABC license for boozy lunch.”

West End Kitchen will be open Wednesdays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will have brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
