A joint operation between the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation led to the arrest of 36-year-old Justin Curtis Williams of Pittsboro on Wednesday, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. Williams faces ten counts of felony second degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Police say the operation was conducted at Williams’ residence at 3 Matchwood in Pittsboro and was the result of an FBI investigation, which had indicated Williams downloaded materials related to the sexual assault of a minor. While police were executing a search warrant, they say they confirmed Williams was in possession of such materials.
Williams is being held on a $100,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on November 25.
