Lotsa Stone Fired Pizza has announced it will be permanently closing its doors.
The restaurant, which is located on the corner of Franklin Street and Columbia Street in Chapel Hill, shared a Facebook post with the community on Tuesday about the decision.
“We truly loved being a part of the community over the last three years,” reads the post. “We tried our best to create a plan that would allow us to stay open. But due to the recent pandemic and lack of business we have no choice but to close down.”
The business opened in 2015 under the model of a casual, fast-baking pizza shop that allowed customers to easily customize toppings on personal-pan pies.
The location on the corner of Franklin Street previously housed Jasmin Medeterranian Bistro and a Qdoba Mexican Grill before Lotsa Stone Fired Pizza opened.

They can blame it on COVID all they want but their business was in the toilet for several months before it ever reached the US. Meh pizza and TERRIBLE service. There was never a manager present. How they made it this long is a mystery. Good riddance. Maybe a decent restaurant will finally go in that doomed corner location. The last several places in that spot have sucked.
I’m going to miss Lotsa Stone Fired Pizza in the same way that I missed my gallbladder after the surgeon removed it.
