
The annual Hillsborough Handmade Parade will close portions of Churton Street and some downtown side streets on Saturday, June 1. Churton Street will be closed from “about 3:45 to 5:30 p.m.,” according to the town, from Orange Street to the U.S. Highway 70A intersection.
Other streets to be closed are:
- Cameron Street between East King Street and Margaret Lane
- East King Street
- East Margaret Lane
Motorists are encouraged to use U.S. 70 and Interstates 40 and 85 to bypass downtown Hillsborough during the parade.
Parking for the parade will be available in Orange County’s Eno River Parking Deck, which will be accessible by either West Margaret Lane or Nash and Kollock Street via Exchange Club Lane. For more parking information, click here.
The parade itself is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the Burwell School Historic Site, located at 319 North Churton Street. The parade will then move south along Churton to East Margaret Lane, then end with a celebration in River Park, located behind the Orange County Justice Facility at 140 East Margaret. The Handmade Market will be open in the park from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
