Founded and hosted by Yonder co-owner Eryk Pruitt, Noir at the Bar has become a staple of the downtown Hillsborough arts scene since the cocktail lounge opened in 2019. The event features authors performing eight to ten minutes of their boldest and most provocative work in an intimate, live setting.
This April’s lineup includes:

- Alexis Bravos
- Daniel Wallace
- PM Raymond
- Steve Weddle
- Dana King
- Casey Stegman

The evening will be emceed by Tracey Reynolds.
Over the years, Noir at the Bar at Yonder has featured nationally recognized authors such as Jill McCorkle, David Joy, and S. A. Cosby, helping to cement its reputation as one of the region’s most engaging literary showcases.
Pruitt, author of Something Bad Wrong and the true crime investigation The Long Dance, describes the event as a highlight of Yonder’s programming:
“We have been fortunate enough to have some crazy things go down on Yonder’s stage. Noir at the Bar is usually some of the most memorable. I can’t wait to hear what people will be talking about next week.”
In addition to the readings, Yonder’s bar staff will offer specially paired drinks for the evening, enhancing the immersive, social experience that has made the venue known as “Hillsborough’s living room.”
Noir at the Bar is free to attend and open to the public. Seating is limited, and guests are encouraged to arrive early.
