It’s tournament time for the UNC men’s and women’s lacrosse teams.
The NCAA Tournament brackets were revealed Sunday night, with the women earning the No. 1 overall seed in the field and the men earning the No. 8 overall seed.
The women are the No. 1 overall seed for the third time in the last five seasons. The Tar Heels enter the tournament as the only undefeated team in Division 1 at 18-0, having won both the ACC regular-season and tournament championships. UNC has 11 wins against ranked opponents, including two wins against No. 2 overall seed Boston College and a road win at No. 3 overall seed Northwestern.
UNC will host the winner of Clemson and Navy in the second round of the tournament at Dorrance Field Sunday at 12 p.m. The Tar Heels are looking to advance to the Final Four for the first time since winning their third national championship in 2022. This year’s Final Four will be played at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA.

The men’s team is back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021. Carolina enters the tournament with a 10-4 overall record and a 3-1 record in ACC play. The Tar Heels defeated five ranked teams this season. In the first round, UNC will host Richmond at Dorrance Field Saturday at 12 p.m. UNC is seeking its first championship since 2016 and sixth in program history. Like the women’s Final Four, the men’s Final Four will be played in Foxboro.
