An electric night in Boshamer Stadium ended in an extra-innings win for Carolina Baseball on Monday, as the Diamond Heels earned the 4-3 win over the LSU Tigers and set social media abuzz.
UNC had to beat the defending national champions the hard way, facing the Tigers for a third time in three days and facing a 3-2 deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning. But Carolina senior Colby Wilkerson tied the game with an RBI-single and second baseman Alex Madera later slapped a single up the middle for the go-ahead RBI in the tenth inning. The Diamond Heels will now face West Virginia in the super regionals round to try and earn their first trip to the College World Series since 2018.
Carolina fans bemoaned the lack of offensive firepower by the Heels for much of the game, as UNC got on the board in the first inning and then could not find a way across home plate. But the comeback victory led to wild celebrations, both in the stadium and on social media afterward.
Here are some of the highlights from social media about the Diamond Heels’ big win on Monday night.

Game 1 will have a first pitch at 6 p.m. and Game 2 will begin at 8 p.m. at Boshamer Stadium, with both games being broadcast on ESPN2 and streamed on the ESPN app.
