Snooze A.M. Eatery has officially set a date for its first Triangle-based location to open.

After months of renovation in the Suite 3 space of Chapel Hill’s Eastgate Crossing shopping center, the breakfast restaurant plans to open for business on Wednesday, November 8.

“We’re excited to continue to grow our Snooze community in North Carolina,” said David Birzon, the CEO of the Colorado-based company. “Chapel Hill offers a small-town charm with metropolitan comforts and we think Snooze’s creative and thoughtfully sourced take on breakfast is a perfect addition to the community.”

Snooze will occupy the space between CorePower Yoga and the Birkenstock store, which previously was a Performance Bicycle location until 2019. The space has largely sat vacant since, despite the openings of several other businesses around it in recent years like Shake Shack, Aldi, and Rise Biscuits. But Snooze remodeled the space to add more than 60 outdoor dining spaces to the location, as well as reshaping the interior.

Fences surrounded the exterior of the new Snooze location as remodeling was completed through the summer of 2023.

The restaurant first opened in 2006 and has since expanded from Colorado to other western and midwestern states. The Chapel Hill location is now Snooze’s fourth in North Carolina, with the other three located in the Charlotte metro area.

While breakfast-lovers in the Chapel Hill will be excited about the specialty pancakes, eggs benedicts, and breakfast sandwiches, Snooze is going to use several soft openings to help benefit two nonprofits — including one based on Carrboro. PORCH, as well as Best Buddies North Carolina, will be fundraising partners with Snooze leading up to the November 8 grand opening.

Including on its first day, Snooze will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.

Snooze won’t be the only restaurant making its Chapel Hill debut that week, as another growing chain is set to open its doors the day before. After a similarly long renovation process, a Raising Cane’s franchise is opening on the corner of East Franklin Street and Columbia Street on Tuesday, November 7, having made its announcement on Tuesday.
