Aaron welcomed North Elementary to Live and Local on Friday, following the release of their new album “Everyone Is A Piano.”
Formed by local stalwart John Harrison 20 years ago, North Elementary over the years has included 18 different members – but they’ve maintained a consistently fresh sound throughout, now with nine full-length albums and nearly 200 total songs.
Today, the band is more of an ensemble than ever: Harrison shares songwriting and lead-vocal duties with married bandmates Sean Parker and Betty Rupp.
“When I look at the list of all those folks that helped shape me as a musician,” Harrison says, “I could not be more grateful.”
North Elementary’s ninth album and first in four years, “Everyone Is A Piano” officially dropped on Friday, October 13. The band is celebrating on Saturday the 14th with an album-release show at Local 506 – a show that’s also a celebration of the band’s impressive 20-year run.
Harrison, Parker and Rupp joined Aaron on Zoom to chat about “Everyone Is A Piano” and play three tracks: “Everyone Is A Piano,” “Yeow Maw,” and “Numb to a Point.”
