Authorities arrested a Durham man on Thursday for his involvement in a Chapel Hill road rage shooting that injured one driver earlier this month.
A release from the Chapel Hill Police Department on Thursday said members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Task Force arrested 21-year-old Jose Daniel Rivas-Sanchez for his role in a June 7 shooting on Fordham Boulevard. He was arrested without incident.
Police said the shooting happened near the intersection of Fordham Boulvard, also known as U.S. Highway 15-501, and Sage Road. The victim reported he and occupants of a blue four-door Mazda sedan shouted at each other about being cut off on the road. A passenger in the blue Mazda then reportedly fired a gun at the victim, leaving the victim’s lower legs injured from shots and resulting debris.
