
UNC senior Sara Daavettila was named the ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Year on Thursday, while a total of five Tar Heels earned All-ACC honors.
Daavettila is currently ranked No. 2 in the country and has posted a 15-1 record in singles competition, with five wins over opponents ranked in the top 25.
She was UNC’s only First Team All-ACC selection and became the program’s first ACC Player of the Year since Hayley Carter in 2017.
Senior Alexa Graham and junior Cameron Morra were each Second Team All-ACC selections, while freshman Fiona Crawley and graduate student Makenna Jones both earned spots on the Third Team.
Head coach Brian Kalbas was also named the ACC Coach of the Year after leading the Tar Heels to a perfect 26-0 record and their fifth consecutive conference championship.
UNC won the ITA National Indoor Championship back in February and now have their sights set on the upcoming NCAA Championships.
