Sophomore All-American Aaron Sabato hit a two-run homer–his first of the season–and a total of seven players drove in at least one run for the No. 22 UNC baseball team on Wednesday at Boshamer Stadium, as the Tar Heels rolled to a 14-0 shutout win over the High Point Panthers.
As a result, the Tar Heels improve to 5-0 to begin the season while High Point falls to 4-1.
UNC jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a pair of errors by the Panthers, then never looked back as it tallied a total of 12 hits in an impressive offensive explosion.
In addition to Sabato’s two-run blast, the Tar Heels also received a team-high three RBIs from Will Stewart and two apiece from Angel Zarate and Danny Serretti.
On the other side, the Tar Heel pitching staff held High Point to just four hits using a combination of Michael Oh, Chris Joyner, Nik Pry and Austin Elliott.
