The Jersey Mike’s and Bangkok 54 restaurant on Falconbridge Road in Chapel Hill were broken into last night.

Charlie Farris, who owns multiple Jersey Mike’s franchises in the local area, told Chapelboro they got a call from their alarm company at 2 a.m. about a break-in. He said police were on the scene shortly afterward.

Surveillance video showed a man kicking the door in at Jersey Mike’s. He was unsuccessful at opening the cash drawer and left with the donation box for CleftProud, which Farris estimated had around $50 in it. A new donation box was later placed back at Jersey Mike’s.

CleftProud is a non-profit founded by UNC graduate Henry Baddour which “aims to be an educational and emotional resource for anyone affected by Cleft Lip and Palate.”
