Join Aaron Keck Tuesday through Friday at 6:00 p.m. for “Live & Local,” where you’ll hear music from artists close to home, and even get the chance to listen in as local musicians talk about where they’ve been, where they’re going, and what’s happening in the local music scene.
In this edition of “Live & Local,” join Aaron Keck for a conversation with local soul songstress Jo Gore about her upcoming album “I Am Worthy,” which has been in the works for quite some time. One of the songs being showcased is “Self Care,” a tune that happens to come with a strikingly simple (and shockingly effective) music video:
Of course, Gore’s album “I Am Worthy” didn’t come from nowhere: it’s been the product of hard work, not just from Jo herself, but also from local legends like Doug Largent!
According her website, Gore “grew up singing” with her gather in churches and at revivals across the southern part of North Caroina, and as a teenager she found her inspirations and influences tucked away in her grandfather’s record collection.
Listen below for the full conversation between 97.9 The Hill’s Aaron Keck and Jo Gore about her life, music, inspirations and more — between a couple of her most recent tracks, of course. You can hear both below, and tune in for more Live & Local weekdays at 6:00!
