Coming off a week that included just one win and four losses–including three defeats at Boshamer Stadium–the UNC baseball team slipped 14 spots from No. 6 to No. 20 in this week’s edition of the D1Baseball.com Top 25.

Head coach Mike Fox’s Tar Heels (3-5) dropped a pair of mid-week games to UNC-Wilmington and St. John’s before losing two out of three games against East Carolina over the weekend–a series that vaulted the previously unranked Pirates up to No. 18 this week.

Florida, Oregon State and Texas Tech remained the top three teams in the country, with Florida State and Arkansas rounding out the top five.

Other teams in the top ten include: No. 6 TCU, No. 7 Kentucky, No. 8 Stanford, No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 10 Texas A&M.

Including UNC and Florida State, the ACC has a total of five ranked teams–with No. 13 Louisville, No. 14 Clemson and No. 19 Virginia also among the mix.

The Tar Heels return to action on Tuesday when they host High Point at Boshamer Stadium, before hosting Liberty–coached by former UNC assistant Scott Jackson–for a three-game series over the weekend.
