After starting the year at No. 6, the Tar Heels tumbled out of the poll after starting the year 7-7. Since then, however, the team has won 25 of its last 31 games.
Florida remains No. 1 in the country, followed by No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 Oregon State, the Tar Heels and No. 5 NC State.
Other teams in the top 10 include: No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 7 Arkansas, No. 8 Clemson, No. 9 Southern Miss and No. 10 East Carolina.
In addition to UNC, NC State and Clemson, the ACC is also represented by No. 13 Duke and No. 14 Florida State.
This week will see the Tar Heels play mid-week games against Richmond and No. 25 Coastal Carolina, before traveling to Durham for a three-game series against Duke.
