Just days after UNC women’s tennis head coach Brian Kalbas made history by becoming the winningest coach in school history, senior Hayley Carter made some history of her own on Saturday.

The No. 2 player in the country, Carter set the ACC record for career singles victories during the third-ranked Tar Heels’ 7-0 match win over Pittsburgh at the Cone Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill.

Carter needed a tiebreaker to defeat Pitt’s Amber Washington in the first set, but swept the second set on the way to a 7-6 (10-8), 6-0 victory.

It was the 162nd collegiate win in singles competition–compared to just 24 losses–for the Hilton Head, South Carolina native, a staggering mark considering she consistently takes on the opposing team’s best players.

The rest of the Tar Heels (26-2, 12-1 ACC) followed suit by sweeping their matches, as they remain in contention for the conference regular season championship.

UNC will wrap up its season on Sunday at 1 p.m. with a match against Syracuse.
