Chapel Hill Police are asking for assistance locating a man suspected in an armed robbery and kidnapping around 7 p.m. Friday.

Authorities say the suspect displayed a silver pistol after asking the victim for a ride in the 400 block of West Rosemary Street. The suspect then “forced the victim to drive to an ATM and withdraw money,” according to a release.

The suspect fled on foot after the withdrawal. The victim was unharmed.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin to medium build. The suspect is estimated to be in his 20s and had a close-cropped beard.
