You think the Tar Heels should go to Tallahassee this weekend?

Mack Brown has done an exemplary job with the safety of his football team so far, while half the world acts like it is living on a different planet – another reason to vote Trump out of office.

Florida coach Dan Mullen lost a heart-breaker at Texas A&M with a near-full house cheering on the Aggies. Mullen said afterward that now that the governor of Florida has allowed unlimited attendance at sporting events, he hoped the Swamp is full Saturday for the LSU game in what could have been called the COVID Bowl.

But the Gators paused football after five more positive cases brought their program total to 19, and that means the LSU game could be off. It would be the second SEC game that must find another date to play after Vandy at Missouri postponed their Saturday game. Mullen may be one of those fools who still thinks this coronavirus is the flu.

The Tar Heels have taken advantage of an empty campus and their coaches’ direction not to go anywhere beyond the football facilities and their dorm rooms. And Carolina has been clean as a whistle heading into the Saturday night game at Florida State.

Most of Florida is now another hotbed, although the panhandle area had among the fewest cases as of Tuesday. In fact, Leon County where Tallahassee sits is one with the lowest in the state with no deaths in the last few days. Still, Doak-Campbell Stadium could have 80,000 fans if enough idiots think it’s okay to spew pellets into the air.

UNC hasn’t made a move yet, but you know Bubba and Mack are watching closely. With arch-rivals State, Virginia, Duke and Wake Forest coming up the next four weeks, and the option to move the FSU game to December 12, instead of playing Western Carolina, why risk flying into an area and atmosphere where the invisible enemy may be as dangerous as the Seminoles?

Numerous college and NFL games have already been affected, and teams with the safest protocols have still been hit. No reason why Carolina has to put the rest of its season in jeopardy with one bad trip.
