During UNC’s series against Duke this weekend, one young baseball fan decided to ignore the rules of base running in favor of a more exciting approach.
In between innings, two young fans lined up to race around the bases. Like you’ve probably seen a million times, one took off towards first base and the other ran towards third.
Only the young fan racing towards third didn’t round the bases as expected, instead opting to go all the way around Boshamer Stadium.
The fans in the stands loved it and gave the young fan a standing ovation the entire way. A few UNC baseball players and Rameses even stopped to give the fan a high-five.
At the end, the kid was completely exhausted and slumped into a heap.
UNC baseball tweeted at ESPN’s SportCenter, asking if it was both a top play and not a top play at the same time.
“Hey @sportscenter, is it possible to have a #SCTop10 & a #SCNotTop10 in the same play? Asking for a friend.”
That feeling when a simple race around the bases turns in to a solo race around the stadium…you're exhausted and slowing down….but the standing ovation keeps you going.

We think this is absolutely deserving of #SCTop10.
