Postseason baseball is coming back to Boshamer Stadium.

The Diamond Heels were revealed as the No. 5 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament Monday, meaning UNC will host at least an NCAA Regional in Chapel Hill. Should seeding hold, Carolina would also host a Super Regional at Boshamer Stadium.

UNC enters the NCAA Tournament with a 45-11-1 overall record, 22-8 mark in ACC play and 28-6-1 record at home. Carolina finished as the ACC Tournament runner-up to Georgia Tech, who received the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament field Monday. Joining the Diamond Heels at Boshamer Stadium this weekend will be No. 2 regional seed Tennessee, No. 3 East Carolina and No. 4 VCU. UNC played a three-game series against the Pirates earlier in the 2026 season, splitting the first two games before the third game was halted and declared a tie due to inclement weather. Carolina also defeated VCU at Boshamer Stadium in February.

UNC will play the Rams and the Volunteers will face the Pirates in the regional’s opening games Friday, with the UNC game scheduled for 5 p.m. The winners of those two games will play each other Saturday, as will the losers of those two games. The regional is played in a double elimination format.

Should UNC advance to a super regional and other national seeds hold, it would host No. 12 overall seed Texas A&M. For a full look at the NCAA Tournament bracket, click here.

This year marks the 14th time in the past 20 season UNC will have hosted an NCAA Regional. Carolina is 38-8 in regional games in that span, having advanced to the Super Regionals 12 times. This is the 15th time overall UNC has hosted a regional.

The regional is scheduled to take place from Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31 with a possible final game on Monday, June 1. A limited inventory of standing room only tickets at Boshamer Stadium will be available prior to each game day of the regional. For more information on tickets and parking, click here.
