Music: “AM” by Arctic Monkeys

Movie: “Monty Python & The Holy Grail”

“AM” by Arctic Monkeys (2013) — Easily my favorite album Arctic Monkeys has ever put out, and I know I’m not alone in that sentiment. This album is absolutely sleek in every which way, with tracks like “Do I Wanna Know?” and “R U Mine?” expressing a deeper thoughtfulness put forth by Alex Turner compared to some of their older stuff. Listening to this album is almost like a phantasmagorical experience with a Rock ‘N’ Roll twist.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail — It’s just a flesh wound! Grab your coconut horses ladies and gentlemen, this movie is gonna take you for an, uh, interesting ride. If you haven’t seen any of the Month Python masterpieces, I suggest this be your first.

Music: Alina Baraz & Galimatias, “Urban Flora”

Movie: “Gattaca”

Alina Baraz & Galimatias, “Urban Flora” Alina Baraz put out a new album recently, but it just doesn’t hit like “Urban Flora” did. Maybe it’s because she’s more famous now, maybe it’s because she’s not sharing the spotlight with Galimatias and all of his buttery-smooth beats, but no matter the reason — I think you’re better off with this one. Check it out if you like things that are good.

“Gattaca” — If you’re of a certain age, and I am, you might have watched this movie in a biology class during a teacher’s off-day — or even as part of the lesson plan, if you were taking lessons from a real one. Well, I’m pleased to report that this science fiction Uma Thurman/Ethan Hawke vehicle (also starring Jude Law and a stellar supporting cast) absolutely, positively holds up. Revisit it, and be amazed at how much you like it.

Adopt-A-Pet: Curio and Tink from the Goathouse Refuge

This week’s Adopt-A-Pets are Curio and Tink from the Goathouse Refuge!

Curio is a 7-month-old tabby who was found as a stray and brought to the Goathouse Refuge. While at her foster home, Curio became very close with a tabby kitty named Tink, who is also an orphan. As such, the Goathouse Refuge is requesting that the pair be adopted together!
