After seven years of growth alongside Durham as the city exploded into a haven for art, technology and culture in North Carolina, “Runaway” — the brand name behind the iconic “DURM” design and countless seasons of Bull City street fashion inspirations — is closing.
The successful store will close in January, and a parting message shared on Runaway’s website states that the business is “ not bankrupt or in legal trouble, it’s just time for our team to shift creative energy to chase dreams new and old.”
The heartfelt “goodbye” on Runaway’s website also comes with a promise of one final collection, billed as “one last salute” to the Bull City.
