Studio Sessions with School of Rock Chapel Hill on 97.9 the Hill usually features a live in-studio performance by students from The School of Rock Chapel Hill, but this month the “Sessions” are going virtual!

Join Aaron Keck and The School of Rock Chapel Hill‘s David Joseph for a trip through some fantastic student performances from the past year. In this episode, you’ll hear:

Wolfmother’s “Woman” and Guns N’ Roses’ “Welcome To The Jungle,” both performed at Local 506 on 1/26/20

Fleetwood Mac’s “Silver Springs,” performed at Blue Note Grill on 5/19/19

Heart’s “Barracuda” performed at the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival on 10/6/19

All songs were performed by students from School of Rock Chapel Hill — a location that also just so happens to be celebrating its third anniversary on May 1, 2020, And is keeping the music alive through its remote learning program, which delivers virtual one-on-one music instruction.

Listen below for all the rockin’ live music mentioned above, as well as for the conversation between 97.9 The Hill’s Aaron Keck and  The School of Rock Chapel Hill‘s David Joseph about the students, the music, the anniversary, and more!
