Every month, Aaron welcomes UNC’s Carolina Public Humanities to the studio for a regular feature called “Oh, the Humanities!” spotlighting humanities work and upcoming events on campus. Click here to listen back to all of those discussions.
April 19-20, Carolina Public Humanities is hosting their annual Adams Symposium at the Kenan Conference Center, with a focus on “building democracies in times of populism and polarization.”
Northwestern University philosopher Cristina Lafont is the keynote speaker; she’s the author of “Democracy Without Shortcuts” and her talk will focus on “Rescuing Democracy from Populism and Technocracy.” Her speech is Friday, April 19, at 5:30 p.m., free and open to everyone.
