Kennedy Todd-Williams, a starting junior wing on the UNC women’s basketball team and cornerstone of the 2020 recruiting class, has entered the transfer portal. Todd-Williams announced the decision on her Instagram page.

Todd-Williams is the second Tar Heel to enter the portal in the span of less than 24 hours, after Destiny Adams entered the portal late on Wednesday.

A staple of consistency, Todd-Williams was the only member of the team to start all 33 games of the 2022-23 season. Her 13.4 points per game ranked second on the team and her 5.4 rebounds per game ranked third, all while averaging 32 minutes per game.

In Carolina’s season-ending loss at Ohio Sate, Todd-Williams tied a season high by playing 39 minutes. She scored 16 points, many of which came during UNC’s furious fourth-quarter comeback.

Including last season, Todd-Williams has started the last 65 consecutive games for head coach Courtney Banghart. Her steady presence in the backcourt with fellow junior Deja Kelly helped kickstart a renaissance in the women’s basketball program, one which saw the Tar Heels qualify for the Sweet 16 in 2022. It was their first appearance in the tournament’s second weekend since the 2014-15 season.

As a rising senior who played during the 2020-21 season, Todd-Williams will have two years of eligibility remaining at her new school.
