UNC women’s basketball will play in the City of Lights next November. The Tar Heels will face Oklahoma at the Adidas Arena in Paris as part of the fourth annual “Oui Play” event to open the 2026-27 season. The game is set for November 2, 2026, with a tip-off time to be announced at a later date.
The announcement was first reported by R.L. Bynum of Tar Heel Tribune while UNC was playing North Carolina Central Monday in Carmichael Arena to open the 2025-26 season. Travel packages geared toward Tar Heel fans are being advertised on the website for Complete Sport Management, the company that organizes Oui Play. Oklahoma’s program also confirmed the news shortly after the initial report by Bynum.
This will be the second time the Tar Heels and Sooners will have faced off in head coach Courtney Banghart’s tenure in Chapel Hill. The two programs met during the 2023-24 season as part of the Jumpman Invitational in Charlotte, with Carolina winning 61-52. Overall, UNC has won three of the five all-time meetings, including a 2-1 edge on neutral courts.
The trip to Paris will be another international venture for Banghart’s program, which has played in both the Bahamas and Mexico in her seven seasons with the team. The Oui Play event will mark the first time ever the Tar Heels will have played a regular season game in France.
