The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced Tuesday that UNC senior Sara Daavettila has been named its women’s Player of the Month for November.

Daavettila went 6-0 with five wins over opponents ranked in the top 50 nationally on her way to the singles title at the ITA National Fall Championship tournament. Of those victories, two were against players ranked in the top 10–including a win over No. 2 ranked Estela Perez-Somarriba of Miami in the semifinals.

On top of winning the important tournament, Daavettila was also named the winner of that event’s Sportsmanship Award.

This marks the first year the ITA has given out Player of the Month awards.
