Led by sophomore Jennifer Zhou, the UNC women’s golf team finished Sunday’s final round of the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational with a sixth place finish on the team leaderboards.
Zhou ended the event with a score of 5-under-par to take fifth place in the individual portion of the tournament, the second-best finish of her collegiate career.
As a team, the Tar Heels finished at 6-under-par–which was six strokes behind tournament champion Michigan State (-12).
Valery Plarta was the driving force behind the Spartans’ tournament win, finishing as the top individual performer at 11-under-par.
