Already welcoming the No. 2 recruiting class in the country next season, the UNC women’s basketball program got another boost Monday with the addition of Princeton graduate transfer Carlie Littlefield.
Littlefield is a two-time All-Ivy League performer as a guard, and played her first two years in college under current UNC head coach Courtney Banghart.
The Ivy League did not play women’s basketball this season due to the pandemic, but in Littlefield’s last season in 2019-20 she averaged 13.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.
Littlefield ranked among the top 10 in the conference in a number of major categories, while leading the Tigers to a 26-1 record.
Experience will be a key attribute she adds to the backcourt for UNC next season, as each of the other five guards on the roster will be either freshmen or sophomores.
Incredibly grateful for my coaches, my teammates, and all of the support I have received during my time at Princeton. Excited to announce that after graduation, I will continue my basketball career and pursue an MBA at the University of North Carolina! #GoHeels pic.twitter.com/CDCuYu3pND
