UNC remained at No. 9 in the AP Men’s Basketball Top 25 in the newest edition of the poll, which was released on Monday.

The Tar Heels are currently 2-0 this season, and are coming off a week where they played just one game–a 93-81 victory at home over Bucknell last Wednesday.

Heading into a busy week that includes a tough road game at Stanford on Monday night and a trip to Portland for three more games in the PK80 Tournament, UNC has yet to play at full strength this season.

Senior point guard Joel Berry missed the season opener against Northern Iowa after breaking his hand in the preseason, while graduate transfer Cameron Johnson will miss the next four to six weeks with a torn meniscus.

The same eight teams remain ranked ahead of the Tar Heels in the top 25, with only Michigan State and Kentucky seeing their positions changed after losing to No. 1 Duke and No. 3 Kansas, respectively, in the Champions Classic.

Behind the Blue Devils in the top five is a list that includes: No. 2 Arizona, the Jayhawks, No. 4 Michigan State and No. 5 Villanova.

Kentucky slipped to No. 8, behind No. 6 Wichita State and No. 7 Florida. USC represents the final team in the top 10.

Other ACC teams among the poll are No. 11 Miami, No. 13 Notre Dame and No. 19 Louisville.
