Trey Morrison’s game-sealing “pick-two” on Saturday against Boston College helped UNC avoid joining a long list of highly-ranked teams to suffer an upset loss this week.

As a result, the Tar Heels moved up four spots on Sunday to No. 8 in the newest edition of the Associated Press Top 25.

Clemson remains the No. 1 team in the country, followed by Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Notre Dame.

The rest of the top 10 consists of: No. 6 Ohio State, No. 7 Miami, the Tar Heels, No. 9 Penn State and No. 10 Oklahoma State.

The ACC has four of the nation’s top 10 ranked teams through four weeks, while No. 19 Virginia Tech gives the league a total of five teams in the top 25.

UNC will have its first top-25 matchup of the season this Saturday at Kenan Stadium, as it puts its 2-0 record on the line against Virginia Tech.
