With a 4-0 victory over the fifth-seeded Florida Gators on Saturday in Madison, Wisconsin, the No. 4 seed UNC men’s tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the ITA National Indoor Championships.
Just one week after the UNC women’s team won the national indoor tournament, the men’s team is now closing in on replicating that same feat–improving to 9-0 on the season as well with Saturday’s victory.
After claiming the doubles point against Florida, the Tar Heels won the match with three consecutive singles victories courtesy of William Blumberg (6-2, 6-3), Brian Cernoch (6-1, 6-1) and Rinky Hijikata (6-4, 6-4).
