According to a tweet from CBS college basketball insider Jon Rothstein on Thursday, UNC is among eight schools selected to play in the 2019 Battle 4 Atlantis men’s basketball tournament in the Bahamas.

The event has taken place annually since 2011, and usually runs during the week of Thanksgiving.

Other teams listed by Rothstein that are expected to join the Tar Heels next year include: Gonzaga, Michigan, Oregon, Iowa State, Seton Hall, Alabama, and Southern Miss.

UNC has made one previous appearance at the event back in 2014, where it finished fifth overall following a first-round defeat at the hands of Butler.

The Tar Heels went on to pick up wins over Florida and UCLA that year, with the win over Florida coming in the tournament’s official fifth-place game.
