UNC announced Tuesday morning that cornerback C.J. Cotman–a rising junior–is medically retiring from football due to issues from recurring migraines.

A former four-star recruit coming out of Clearwater, Florida, Cotman appeared in a total of eight games over the last two seasons, playing on special teams in addition to his work on defense.

Cotman recorded seven tackles over the course of his career.

Despite his retirement from playing the sport, he will continue to help with the team and pursue his UNC degree.
