The North Carolina Tar Heel baseball team moved up to No. 4 in the latest D1Baseball rankings released Monday.
The Tar Heels moved up from the sixth-ranked team in the country after going 5-0 last week with mid-week victories against now-No. 19 East Carolina and Elon before sweeping Duke over the weekend.
UNC is now 17-2 on the season.
Carolina is now the highest-ranked member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The fourth-ranked Tar Heels are followed by Miami at No. 7, ninth-ranked Louisville, spots 11 – 13 in the rankings are occupied by Florida State, Clemson and NC State and Virginia checks in at No. 16.
The Florida Gators remain atop the rankings, followed by Texas A&M, Oregon State, UNC and Vanderbilt in the top five.
Carolina will be back in action on Tuesday hosting Western Carolina in a game that will air on WCHL. First pitch is set for six o’clock Tuesday night.
UNC will get back into ACC action beginning on Thursday hosting Georgia Tech.
