Michael Busch and Jackson Hesterlee each drove in two runs apiece on Sunday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium to lead the 16th-ranked UNC baseball team to a 5-4 win over the Virginia Cavaliers in the series rubber match.

Busch doubled to tie the game at 1-1 in the third inning and then later added an insurance run with a slow hit back to the pitcher in the sixth inning, while Hesterlee’s two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth put UNC ahead 3-2.

The Tar Heels (33-12) led 5-2 entering the eighth inning, but allowed Virginia (26-20) to score twice in the penultimate frame before eventually slamming the door on the victory.

UNC remains in a tie with Georgia Tech atop the ACC standings with only two more series left to play in the regular season.
