A pair of UNC golfers–rising junior Brynn Walker and incoming freshman Nicole Lu–each qualified for and will participate in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Tournament this week in Kingston Springs, Tennessee.

Walker has started in every tournament for UNC since her freshman year, and posted a stroke average of 74.36 in 2017-18 with six rounds under par. She earned her spot in the U.S. Women’s Amateur after firing a 5-under-par 67 in her qualifying event at the Hackensack Golf Club in Oradell, New Jersey.

Lu, meanwhile, shot a 71 to be the first qualifier this year to come from the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida. In 2017, Lu was also recognized as the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Sportswoman of the Year–posting 20 top-five finishes in her events since 2016.
