UNC jumped two spots in the newest AP Men’s Basketball Top 25, which was released on Monday–checking in as the No. 5 team in America.

The Tar Heels–who are coming off a tight road victory at then No. 20 Tennessee–are making their first appearance in the top five this season.

Villanova and Michigan State held onto the top two spots in the poll for the second straight week, with No. 3 Arizona State and No. 4 Duke ranked just ahead of UNC.

The second half of the top 10 is made up of a group that includes: No. 6 Miami, No. 7 Kentucky, No. 8 Texas A&M, No. 9 Xavier and No. 10 West Virginia.

Duke, UNC and Miami give the ACC three of the nation’s top six teams. The league has five ranked teams total when factoring in No. 13 Virginia and No. 24 Florida State.

This week, the Tar Heels are scheduled to face Wofford at home on Wednesday before traveling to face Ohio State on Saturday in New Orleans as part of the CBS Sports Classic.
