SportsLine revealed its odds for next year’s Heisman Trophy winner on Monday, with UNC quarterback Sam Howell selected to have the third-best chance at +600.

Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler is the early front-runner at +300, followed by Clemson quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei at +400.

Howell is coming off a sophomore season in which he threw for 3,586 yards and 30 touchdowns while completing just over 68 percent of his passes.

The Tar Heels went 8-4 in 2020 and earned a spot in the Orange Bowl, representing the program’s first major bowl appearance since 1950.

Howell’s three touchdown passes in that game against No. 5 Texas A&M gave him 68 for his career, enough to tie him with Darian Durant for the most in UNC history.

With a vast majority of this year’s team returning to school next year, Howell and the Tar Heels will have sky-high expectations — starting with these way-too-early Heisman odds.
