For the second time this month, UNC’s Sasha Neglia was selected Wednesday as the ACC Cross Country Freshman of the Week after yet another outstanding performance.

Neglia won the women’s 6K race at the ACC tri-meet in Kernersville, posting a time of 21:07.60 to get her second victory of the season.

Her win also helped the Tar Heels defeat both Wake Forest and NC State in the team standings.

Through three events this season, Neglia has been named the ACC Performer of the Week once and the league’s Freshman of the Week twice.

She and the Tar Heels are currently preparing for the ACC Cross Country Championship on Oct. 30 in Cary.
