It appears Greg Robinson won’t be setting up shop in Chapel Hill after all, following plenty of negative feedback in the 24 hours since Football Scoop first reported he would be joining the UNC football staff as a co-defensive coordinator under Mack Brown.

Inside Carolina’s Greg Barnes reported that Robinson is no longer being considered for the role, which he would have shared with Tommy Thigpen–one of four additions to the staff that Brown and the university made official on Friday.

The 67-year-old previously served as a defensive coordinator for Brown at Texas in 2004 and 2013.

From 2005-08 he was the head coach at Syracuse, putting together a dismal record of 5-37.

Since his last job in football–the defensive coordinator at San Jose State from 2014-15–Robinson has been out of the game for two years.
