Senior guard Paris Kea scored 26 points Thursday night to lift the UNC women’s basketball team to its first ACC road victory of the season so far, as the Tar Heels went to Blacksburg and defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies by a score of 81-69.
UNC (11-9, 2-4 ACC) trailed by 10 points at halftime, but managed to tie things up by the end of the third quarter before taking control in the fourth–and final–period.
Virginia Tech, meanwhile, dropped to 13-6 this season and 0-6 against opponents from inside the ACC.
In addition to Kea’s excellence, the Tar Heels also received 21 points from sophomore forward Janelle Bailey and 17 from junior guard Stephanie Watts.
The Tar Heels shot a whopping 64 percent in the second half in order to complete the comeback victory.
