UNC’s Mike Fox was recognized Monday as the ACC Baseball Coach of the Year, marking the first time in his illustrious career he’s earned the honor.
This season saw the Tar Heels win its second straight ACC Coastal Division title, and seventh in program history–all of which have come under Fox’s leadership. UNC (37-17) also claimed the No. 1 overall seed for this week’s conference tournament after finishing the year with a 22-8 record against ACC opponents.
In 20 seasons as the head coach at his alma mater, Fox has compiled a record of 877-372 and earned his 1,400th career coaching victory during the 2018 season. Prior to taking the job in Chapel Hill, he had a standout career as the head coach at N.C. Wesleyan.
