Former UNC running back Michael Carter and linebacker Chazz Surratt have been impressing NFL scouts at the 2021 Senior Bowl, according to reports from Sports Illustrated.

The annual event held in Mobile, Alabama gives pro coaches and scouts a chance to see how some of the nation’s top seniors fare against one another in workouts, practices and a game environment.

To this point, Carter and Surratt have each shown their impressive athleticism — while Carter’s skills in pass protection, despite his small 5-foot-9-inch frame, have also stood out.

In December, ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranked Carter as the No. 8 running back available — four spots behind teammate Javonte Williams, who opted to forego his senior season. With 3,403 career rushing yards, Carter ranks fourth on UNC’s all-time list.

Surratt, meanwhile, was listed as the No. 2 inside linebacker prospect after leading the Tar Heels in tackles in each of the last two seasons.

The Senior Bowl itself will be played on Jan. 30.
