A pair of goals in the final 10 minutes on Friday night helped guide the fifth-ranked UNC men’s soccer team to a 2-0 victory over the Boston College Eagles.
Nils Bruening put the first one on the board in the 81st minute when he headed in a cross from teammate Jack Skahan, who ended up scoring the second goal just over four minutes later–his fourth of the week after posting a hat trick in the Tar Heels’ win over Winthrop this past Tuesday.
That stretch proved to be the difference maker in many ways, as both teams played a relatively even match to that point.
Both UNC (11-2-1, 5-1 ACC) and Boston College (4-6-3, 2-5 ACC) tallied nine shots apiece throughout the night.
