Janelle Bailey Named ACC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

UNC senior forward Janelle Bailey was named the ACC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 19.3 points and 11 rebounds in the Tar Heels’ three games last week.

The Tar Heels went 2-1 in those games, including a 92-68 win over then-No. 18 Syracuse–a game in which Bailey led the team with 25 points and eight rebounds.

In a close loss to Miami last Monday, Bailey totaled 14 points and 13 rebounds. She responded with her big game against Syracuse and then had 19 points and 12 rebounds in an overtime win over Wake Forest on Sunday.

This marks the third time in her career that Bailey has been named the ACC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

UNC returns to action with the rematch against Syracuse on Dec. 31.
