The UNC men’s basketball team got a bit stronger for next season on Thursday morning, as graduate transfer Justin Pierce–who was previously at William and Mary–decided he will play out his final year of eligibility as a Tar Heel.

Pierce averaged 14.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game last season, showing an extremely versatile game that allows him to contribute in a number of different areas.

At 6-foot-7, it is likely that Pierce will be used in a manner similar to the way Luke Maye was for UNC over the last few years.

He is the second graduate transfer joining the Tar Heels for next season as well, joining guard Christian Keeling–who chose UNC after spending time previously at Charleston Southern.
