One of the most prolific wide receivers in UNC history is coming back to Chapel Hill.

News was made official Friday that Quinshad Davis will join head coach Larry Fedora’s staff as a graduate assistant–where he is expected to help out his former position coach, Gunter Brewer, with the wide receivers.

The Gaffney, South Carolina native was a member of Fedora’s first recruiting class at UNC.

During his four years on the field as a Tar Heel from 2012-2015, Davis amassed 205 catches for 2,614 yards and 25 touchdowns.

All of those numbers were school records at the time of his graduation following the Tar Heels’ 11-win season in 2015, although Ryan Switzer has since broken the marks for receptions and yards.

Davis went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft, but did go through training camp after signing a free agent contract with the Detroit Lions–a deal he was ultimately released from.

Following the short stint in Detroit, Davis also spent time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

His most memorable moment as a Tar Heel came as a senior, when he caught a five-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Marquise Williams to beat Virginia Tech on the road in overtime. The win clinched UNC’s first, and only, ACC Coastal Division title.
