A new batch of potential College Football Hall of Fame inductees were announced Monday by the National Football Foundation (NFF), with 176 players and 38 coaches being considered.

Among those names for the first time is former UNC offensive lineman Ken Huff, a First Team All-American in 1974 who also received the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the ACC’s best offensive lineman that year.

Huff was previously inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame in 2008, and was honored as UNC’s ACC Legend at the 2015 conference championship game in Charlotte.

“Being in today’s elite group means an individual is truly among the greatest to have ever played the game, and those actually elected to the Class will be part of a momentous year as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of college football in 2019,” NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell said, in a released statement.

The official announcement of which players will actually get into the College Football Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2019 won’t come until Jan. 7, 2019 in Santa Clara, California.
